Challenge
To create a drink brand that could be enjoyed by a group of people who has an appreciation for the finer things in life. They enjoy trying out new gourmet products, and wouldn’t hesitate to put something in their cart based on great packaging. This is also a product which may be sold at stores like Whole Foods. To make a design that grabs attention and induce nostalgia. Not relying on illustration but rather using photo based designs.
Audience
The target audience is comprised of single (or young married) males and females, ages 30+, with a large amount of disposable income. This group has an appreciation for the finer things in life. They enjoy trying out new gourmet products, and wouldn’t hesitate to put something in their cart based on great packaging. They like to entertain and throw cocktail parties. They watch the Food Network, and read Everyday Food magazine (Martha Stewart). They believe food = fashion.
Solution
I created a Kombucha brand that is inspired by 1950's horror cinema in particular Monster movies revolving around a damsel. The idea, showcased with The Creature from The Black Lagoon, is to do series with 2 contrasting flavors. One that is inspired by the monster and other, the damsel. The aesthetic stays true to the campy black and white style of vintage monster movies but with a pop of color and a refined flavor profile. Other series would be Dracula, The Wolf man, King Kong, etc.
