Challenge
Creating a theme and brand for the 2026 Texas Gator Festival using completely custom typography that feels true to the event and its small town where alligators outnumber its occupants 3-1. Aside from the events branding I was challenged to create merch and lanyards/wristbands for each sub event and levels of entrance including staff and volunteers.
Audience
All ages young and old anyone interested in taking part in this local community event but most predominantly, men ages 18-50 who enjoy hunting as part of gator population control and not to mention the competitive side of the event.
Solution
In order to make a cohesive design that is easily replicated in various sizes and applications for this event I decided on a very simple design wit a rustic feel by way of block/screen print in a green that matches the wetland environment and the ability to crop the design to fit in all different design elements. For typography I found a block type, softened the edges and used as a guide to shape my gator letter illustrations to match the block print aesthetic.
